WHO WE ARE

Camp CommUnity is a legally recognized DBA of Start-Up Kids Club, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that serves the family and youth of Central Texas.

WHAT PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT AND WHY WE COLLECT IT

As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, CU + Start-Up Kid’s Club may collect sensitive data, such as name, address, billing information, credit card data, etc. This information is not sold or rented to any third party and is used for our records and general reporting to partners, sponsors, and the community. When reporting data, we do not disclose detailed personal data that can identify an individual. All external data will be displayed in aggregated demographic information.

COMMENTS

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

MEDIA

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

DONATIONS

Start-Up Kid’s Club is grateful to all our donors and respects their privacy. We will protect our donors’ personal information and will not sell or rent this information. We do not trade, sell, or rent our mailing lists with anyone. All donor information is kept confidential and is only disclosed on a “need-to-know” basis. Donor information will be used for contacting the donor and informing them about any matters related to Start-Up Kid’s Club, including opportunities related to events, programming, funding needs, and volunteering. Donors can opt out of receiving updates and notices at any time.

CHILDREN’S INFORMATION

Start-Up Kid’s Club will protect the information of all those who use our website, this includes children. All personal information from anyone under the age of 13 will only be requested knowingly with prior consent from a verified parent or guardian. This information may include name, address, email, phone number, age, etc. This information is solely used for our data and programming and will not be shared with any third parties. Any data that is shared will be in the form of aggregated demographics, where not one child can be specifically identified.

Start-Up Kid’s Club owns the rights to all imagery on our website depicting children. Parents/ guardians can revoke their consent and request for us to delete their child’s personal information at any time. In order to protect the information from the children whose data we have on file, we will verify the identity of the requesting parent or guardian. The data collected for identifying the parent or guardian is also protected and will not be shared with third parties. If a parent or guardian chooses to revoke consent, we will delete any previous data collected and halt any future data collection for that child.

CONTACT FORMS

If you chose to fill out any contact form on our website, you are consenting for us to contact you. All information obtained from a contact form is protected under this policy. Any information obtained from a contact form will solely be used by Start-Up Kid’s Club. By submitting a contact form, you are agreeing to join our mailing list. You are able to opt-out of our mailing list at any time.

COOKIES

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

EMBEDDED CONTENT FROM OTHER WEBSITES

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

This website may also contain links to other sites. We are not responsible for any content or privacy practices and policies of any other site. If leaving the Start-Up Kid’s Club site, please review the private policy of that site for their practices.

ANALYTICS

CU + Start-Up Kid’s Club uses “Google Analytics” to collect information. Google Analytics will collect data related to how often a user visits a site, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other sties they used prior to coming to this site. We solely use this data to improve our own site, programming, and messaging.

Google Analytics will collect the IP address from when you visited the site. We also do not merge the information collected from Google Analytics with your personal data that has been shared. Google Analytics will plant a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a user. This cookie is solely used by Google. Any information that Google has collected through Google Analytics is restricted by their Google Analytics Terms of Use and Google Privacy Policy.

Start-Up Kid’s Club is not responsible or affiliated with its terms of use or privacy policy. If you wish to opt out of Google Analytics recognizing you when returning to our site, you may disable cookies on your browser.

WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH

Start-Up Kid’s Club will not share your personal information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request. For certain events or programming, we may utilize an outside credit card processing company to bill users for either goods or services. These companies do not retain, share, store, or use any identifiable information for any purpose beyond fulfilling your order.

As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, we do share aggregated demographic information with our partners and sponsors. This is not linked to any personal information nor can it identify any individual specifically. We only have access to and collect information that you have voluntarily given us via email or through other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR DATA

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

WHAT RIGHTS YOU HAVE OVER YOUR DATA

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can contact us to change or correct any data we have collected about you. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. If there is any concern about the usage of your data, you may contact us at any time via email at info@startupkidsclub.com. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

WHERE WE SEND YOUR DATA

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Any data that is used for data reporting, will be in the form of an aggregated demographic. This means that by viewing said data, no one can identify any specific individual from whom this data was collected.

YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION

We will use the information given to us to respond and contact you. Unless stated, we may contact you via email or phone in the future to notify you about any programming, events, workshops, changes to this policy, and other matters related to Start-Up Kid’s Club. You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time by contacting us via email at info@startupkidsclub.com.

As a way to better serve our community, we may contact you in the future to request personal data via surveys, contests or raffles. Participation in these surveys, contests, or raffles is completely voluntary and you may choose whether or not to participate and disclose this information. This information could include contact information, such as name and address, and demographic information, such as zip code, age, etc. If selected as a winner in a contest or raffle, your contact information will be used to notify you. Survey information will be used for the purpose of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of our site, program, events, or Start-Up Kid’s Club in general.

HOW WE PROTECT YOUR DATA

In order to protect your sensitive information, such as credit card data, we will use encryption software while transmitting that data. We will protect your data both online and offline.

As a way to protect your data offline, only employees who are granted “need-to-know” access will be given access to your information in order to perform their specific job (examples including billing, program support, etc.).

WHAT DATA BREACH PROCEDURES WE HAVE IN PLACE

CU + Start-Up Kid’s Club considers all personal data that it has collected as confidential and is only given access to team members on a “need-to-know” basis. If a data breach occurs, users whose data we have collected will be notified.

WHAT THIRD PARTIES WE RECEIVE DATA FROM

CU + Start-Up Kid’s Club collects data from the following third parties:

  • Schools

WHAT AUTOMATED DECISION-MAKING AND/OR PROFILING DO WE DO WITH USER DATA

Start-Up Kid’s Club does not use automated decision-making and profiling.

INDUSTRY REGULATORY DISCLOSURE REQUIREMENTS

As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, CU + Start-Up Kid’s Club is required to provide copies, upon request of our there most recently filed annual information returns and our tax-exemption application.
